Fire Damage Field Research

With the assistance of a local fire department, VTO Labs placed several devices (computers, laptops, and hard drives) in wooden structures and lit them on fire. By simulating a rapidly growing house fire environment, they are able to replicate what fire investigators discover on scene when recovering severely burnt devices.
